The Allensworth Exhibition at the Skyline College Library has officially opened! On October 29, President Stroud, hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony and VIP reception declaring the exhibition officially open. The reception was attended by members of the community, including members of the San Mateo Community College Board of Trustees, San Bruno Rotary Club, as well as members of the President’s Council. Skyline College was represented at the occasion by several staff members, faculty members and Administrators.
The Allensworth Exhibition was brought on campus through a partnership with the African-American Museum and Library of Oakland and the African Diaspora Program at Skyline College and hosted on campus in partnership with the Skyline College Library.
Allensworth is a historic California town in the Central Valley, founded by African-Americans and serves as a symbolic representation of self-determination for all African-Americans in the areas of education, community empowerment and economic development.
