Twenty-five students joined the Transfer Center on the visit to UC Davis on March 1st! The students attended a great event at UC Davis that included a motivational keynote, a student panel, a campus tour, and plenty of sessions focused on career and transfer preparation. The event also included a resource fair and a University of California transfer fair. UC Davis provided dining to feed our student community breakfast and lunch.
UC Davis partners with Skyline College and offers a Transfer Opportunity Program (TOP) designed to support students in reaching their goals to transfer to UC. UC Davis is one of the most popular destinations for our students. For the 2022-2023 academic year, UC Davis admitted 114 Skyline Scholars and admitted students at a high rate of 76.6% (PRIE Dashboard, 2024). UC Davis also represents the university with the most Transfer Admission Guarantees (TAG) submitted from Skyline College.
Thank you to the Skyline College Community, including faculty, classified professionals, and administration, for promoting the successful campus tour! The students are thankful to Skyline College leadership for allocating funds to make campus tours a possibility.
The Transfer Center will continue to offer tours to San Francisco State University on April 26th and to San Jose State University (SJSU) in May 2024. The Transfer Center has also partnered with TRiO to implement the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) tour during spring break.
