February is Financial Aid Awareness Month

On Monday, February 3, 2014 the Financial Aid Office hosted their Spring 2014 Financial Aid Awareness Event in the Quad.  Financial Aid Awareness Month serves as a reminder that there is still time to apply for financial aid.  At the event, students were also encouraged to apply for Skyline College Scholarships.  The 2014-2015 Skyline College Scholarship Application is due February 13, 2014.  During the event, students were asked to complete a survey regarding their knowledge of financial aid and scholarships.  As thank you for completing the survey, students were treated to freshly popped kettle corn by Peter’s Kettle Corn (www.peterskettlecorn.com). Over 280 students attended the event and a submitted a survey.  The Financial Aid Office values students’ opinions and they are always open to hearing suggestions on how they can better assist students and help them achieve academic success.

In honor of Financial Aid Awareness Month, the Financial Aid Office will be offering the below workshops to help students better understand and utilize all of their financial aid and scholarship options.  Please encourage your students to attend an event by offering extra-credit.  Certificate of attendance slips will be available.

Also, please remind your students to apply for Skyline College Scholarships – no minimum GPA is required.
