CITD CSMPC ParticipantsThe Center for International Trade Development (CITD) is off to an exciting year as Skyline College’s Yvonne Reid, Director of CITD, joined the Council for Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) at the 2015 Season Kick-off meeting on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 in San Jose at the Hotel Valencia at Santana Row. Networking with industry leaders across the bay area region remains at the forefront for CITD, and this event provided an excellent opportunity to forge new connections.

Silicon Valley Leadership Group CEO, Carl Guardino, was the entertaining Master of Ceremonies for a most enjoyable supply chain management ‘Predictions Panel’ featuring BevMo!, Clorox, Method Home Products and Move Loot. Participants from industry and academia enjoyed dinner coupled with a highly interactive discussion about expanding best practices from the U.S. to Europe, reducing reliance on supply chain management outsourcing, and the future of supply chain management and its effect on the global workforce and economy.

CSCMP San Francisco Bay Area Roundtable (SFRT) is creating a forum for top flight networking among supply chain leaders and business innovators, best practices learning opportunities and an overall member experience enabled by their location in a hub of business innovation and global leadership. CSCMP’s vision states that they are: “Committed to educating and connecting the SF Bay Area’s supply chain professionals.” This aligns closely with CITD’s mission, “We invest in California’s economic growth and global competitiveness through industry-specific education, training and services that contribute to a highly skilled and productive workforce.” CITD promotes California’s international trade and competitiveness, assists exporters and importers, and advances economic and job growth.

The CITD Team is looking forward to an exciting school year as they support a bridge-building approach to educating and training community college students, connecting students with employers, providing a pipeline of highly skilled workforce to employers, and contributing to the local and global economy.

Join us at our upcoming “Integrating Global Trade & Logistics and Cybersecurity” (IGTLC) Conference in San Francisco, November 12 -14. 2015.
