On Monday, October 22, 2018, the Peninsula/Silicon Valley Chapter of CalCPA hosted a Speed Mentoring event at Skyline College for local accounting students to get a chance to explore the diverse career paths within accounting by interacting with six professionals from different accounting backgrounds who volunteered their time to sit with students and tell them about their daily lives. The professionals gave them inside tips and knowledge about their professions as well as answer any questions that the students had. Students were also introduced to the wide variety of resources offered by the CalCPA. The professionals who volunteered their time were:

- Mei Liu, CPA – Taxation (Young, Craig & Co.)
- Alex Barron – Taxation (BPM LLP)
- Jace Weaver – Business & Industry (Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club)
- Judy Yip – Forensics (Hemming Morse LLP)
- Michael Gallaher – Audit (Sensiba San Filippo LLP)
- Joe Harding – Family Office (Seiler LLP)
