In celebration of Black History Month, the Library is hosting these series of events:
- Green Book Display, February 6, 2023 – February 28, 2023
Learn about the Green Book directory used by the Black community between 1936 and 1966 as a guide for safer traveling, which inspired the movie, Green Book.

Honoring Black authors’ contributions to the literary form, books and eBooks will be displayed in different locations for the public to check out.
- Mic DROP! Poetry SLAM!!!, February 27, 2023, 4 – 6 p. m.
This event is open to the Skyline College community – faculty, staff, students, and the community – to share their creativity through spoken word. Please visit bit.ly/micdrop23 to register and submit your poem. Last day to register is Thursday, February 23, 2023. Refreshments will be provided.
