violin studentsIn recognition of “The Week of the Young Child” (April 24-28), the Skyline College Violin/Viola class was honored to perform for the children at the Child Development Laboratory Center.  Throughout the semester, students in the violin class learn the basics of playing the violin and play a variety of repertoire.  The violinists prepared a few tunes for the concert that would be instantly recognizable for young children, including “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and “Pop Goes the Weasel”.  The children in the CDLC had the opportunity to sing, clap, and dance as the violinists performed their selections.  A few even had the chance to conduct the group of musicians!  The students of the Violin/Viola class enjoyed sharing the joy of live music with a future generation of musicians.
