Skyline College’s wrestling team finished in third place at the Northern California Wrestling Championships on December 2, 2017 at Lassen College.
The third place finish by the Trojans was their best since 2000. Skyline College finished the competition with 102.5 points finishing 11.5 points in front of fourth place Chabot College.
Ramon Guzman (285 pounds) won an individual championship and Joeseph Salt (197 pounds), Josh Aceves (141 pounds) and Danny Borrego (125 pounds) each had a third place finish. Guzman, Salt, Aceves, Borrego and several other wrestlers qualified for the State Wrestling Championships scheduled for December 8-9 at San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton.
