SparkPoint and Career Services at Skyline College would like to extend campus-wide introduction to a new member of the team, Pamela Ortiz. Pamela serves as the Staff Assistant for the Dream Center, which launched on February 1, 2017. She earned her bachelor’s degree in studio art with a minor in education from San Francisco State University. During her time at San Francisco State, Pamela served undocumented students in various capacities. She worked as the AB 540/ Undocumented Financial Aid Student Assistant and interned at their Dream Resource Center. She also served as a member of SF State’s AB 540 Undocumented Student Educational Equity Task Force and was the President of the undocumented student organization, Improving Dreams, Equity, Access, and Success (IDEAS). Pamela strongly believes in creating pathways and resources to support undocumented students and community members through their pursuit of higher education.
