On November 21, 2017 over 25 students and staff participated in a Thanksgiving Turkey Trot. The event, organized by Professor Mike Fitzgerald, was a 1.9 mile run / walk around the Skyline College campus and the surrounding neighborhood.
Prizes were awarded to the top male and female participants along with a drawing for gift cards generously donated by the Skyline College Bookstore and a 21 pound Butter Ball turkey.
Congratulations to students Gelica Peralta for winning the turkey, Susie Ng as the top female finisher and Arden Abude and Xavier Sarria as the top male finishers.
The trot was designed to showcase that along with friends, family and food that we should give thanks over the upcoming holidays to start, stay or remain physically active. Physical exercise is a great way to maintain and improve your physical and cognitive health and well-being.
