On Friday, February 27, Skyline College’s Transfer Center attended Discover UC Davis at UC Davis, giving prospective transfer students the opportunity to experience life at a four-year university firsthand.

Discover UC Davis is designed specifically for students preparing to transfer, offering an in-depth look at campus life and the wide range of academic and student support services available. Throughout the day, students toured the campus, attended informational sessions, and connected directly with university representatives to learn more about the transfer process.

Participants explored resources such as academic advising, financial aid, housing, student organizations, and cultural resource centers. These sessions provided valuable insight into the support systems that help transfer students thrive both academically and socially after making the transition.

A highlight of the event was the opportunity to meet faculty members from various majors. Students engaged in conversations about academic programs, research opportunities, and potential career pathways. These discussions allowed attendees to ask specific questions related to their intended fields of study while gaining a deeper understanding of what UC Davis has to offer.

Beyond academics, the visit gave students a glimpse into campus culture. By walking through the university grounds, observing student life, and meeting fellow prospective transfers, attendees were able to envision themselves as part of the Aggie community.

The Transfer Center continues to expand opportunities for students through events like Discover UC Davis, supporting them as they navigate the transfer journey. By providing access to university experiences and resources, the center helps students make informed decisions and confidently take the next step toward earning their bachelor’s degrees.
