On November 30, the Transfer Center was busy helping students finalize and complete their applications for transfer to both UC and CSU campuses before the midnight deadline.
Over 75 students attended Thursday’s drop in workshop that was held from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm. The days leading up to the November 30 deadline, students nervously dropped in seeking assistance to complete their application as early as they could. With support from the Learning Center, students received one on one assistance with their UC Personal Insight Questions from the talented team of Instructional Aides and Peer Reviewers. The week was full of nervous yet exciting energy as students submitted their applications in anticipation of transitioning to a new campus next fall.
Since October the Transfer Center has supported over 400 students with their applications for both public and private institutions for Fall 2018 admissions. Although the system-wide Fall 2018 application deadline of November 30 has passed, 10 CSU campuses and 3 UC campuses have extended their deadlines for transfer applicants. The deadline is an opportunity for students that did not have the time to work on applications. If students are still interested in applying for transfer, please have them stop by the Transfer Center for support. Drop-in workshops are available in the Transfer Center (2-227) to help students with their application Thursday, December 7 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and Tuesday, December 12 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
We appreciate the work and time staff and faculty have committed to support students with their applications, not only in the Transfer Center’s workshops but on their own time.
