Psi Beta President Jorge Avalo kicked off the semester with an engaging and interactive presentation on psychopathy, featuring an episode from Just a Cigar, a video series by Skyline Psychology Professor Dr. Shaun Perisho. The session sparked a lively discussion, with participants exploring what they learned, addressing misconceptions about the disorder, and examining how the media influences our understanding of mental health.

Our second event featured Skyline College Personal Counselor Perry Chen, who presented The Benefits of Board Games. Perry highlighted the cognitive and psychological advantages of gameplay, and then we put theory into action! Students had the chance to play a variety of games, including Blank Slate, Blokus, Catch Phrase, and more. The room was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and connection.

We were thrilled by the strong turnout – 26 students attended Perry’s event – and hope this enthusiasm reflects a growing desire among students to build community and foster meaningful connections on campus.
