The Skyline College Learning Commons brings together the functions of the Library and The Learning Center into a unified, technology enhanced academic support space and to that end we have just added our newest team member, Chelssee De Barra. Chelssee will be serving as the Interim Learning Center Manager. Chelssee earned a Bachelor’s of Arts in English, Spanish, and Women’s Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Webster University in St. Louis. She previously served as an Administration Consultant at the Wisconsin Department of Instruction in Title I and Student and School Success. She also taught writing and ESL courses at Madison College. Chelssee brings to Skyline a strong background in teaching and learning methods as well as previous experience in building cross-program collaboration among faculty, staff, and students.
Chelssee will assist with the planning, implementation, and leadership of the Learning Common’s programs the focus on tutoring, academic success workshops, peer mentoring, supplemental instruction, and more! Chelssee is excited to join the Skyline College team and looks forward to working with everyone on campus. Feel free to come by her office BLDG 5, Rm. 5-108 to say hi!
