On April 21, 2026, Skyline College hosted a dynamic Lunch and Learn in collaboration with The Boombox, offering students a powerful introduction to the value of networking and relationship-building. Held from 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Intercultural Center and online, the event brought together approximately 40 students for an engaging and interactive experience centered on career exploration and access.

The session featured Gee Kin Chou, co-founder of The Boombox, who shared insights on how students can tap into hidden networks to connect with professionals across industries. Through The Boombox platform, students gain access to one-on-one informational interviews that can lead to mentorship, internships, job opportunities, and expanded professional networks.

Students participated in a guided activity to reflect on their interests and identify potential career paths, followed by strategies for building meaningful connections after initial introductions. The event emphasized that social capital is often closer than it seems and that a single conversation can open doors to new possibilities.

The Lunch and Learn series continue to serve as a space for exploration, exposure, and skill-building, reinforcing Skyline College’s commitment to equity and student success through innovative programming and community partnerships.
