Student applications for the Summer 2024 Global Internship Programs are open. On Thursday, November 2nd, the Study Abroad Office held an info session at Skyline College with a Zoom option to allow more students to participate. Representatives from two program providers – Global Career Center (GCC) and EUSA – presented at the info session. Dr. Kate Moore and Naveen Shah from GCC traveled from Boston to visit Skyline College campus and provided our students with detailed information on Global Internship opportunities. Lea Girasole from EUSA joined the info session via Zoom and made an informative presentation. After the session, Zaid Ghori, Interim Dean of Global Learning Programs and Services, and Kelly Li, Program Services Coordinator for Study Abroad, gave GCC visitors a tour of Skyline College.

SMCCCD Study Abroad is offering nine different locations for the Global Internships around the world in Summer 2024: Berlin, Dublin, Lisbon, Madrid, Prague, Singapore, Vancouver, Tokyo, and San Francisco. Students are encouraged to check out the Global Internship website for program details. The application deadline is March 1st, 2024. Students can apply now.

There are multiple scholarship opportunities to make these internship programs more affordable. Including the SMCCCD Study Abroad Scholarships, Gilman Scholarship, and more. The Gilman International Scholarship is a grant program through the U.S. Department of State that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad with in-person international programs. Eligible students can apply and win up to $5,000 to fund their study abroad program. Please visit our website to learn more about How to Pay for your study abroad experience.
