Staff members from ESL Connect, the International Student Program, and the Undocumented Community Center came together on January 9 to conduct a workshop on where to direct students for support services based on their student type. Participants were guided through each program’s support services and the types of students served, then given a self-evaluation chart and a cheat sheet to help students identify the right support service using inclusive and affirming language.

The presenters were as follows:
· Fernanda Castorena, Program Services Coordinator (UCC)
· Mylene Foo, Program Services Coordinator (ESL Connect)
· Thanh Nguyen, Program Services Coordinator (ISP)
· Carlos Romero, Academic Counselor (ISP)
· Clair Yeo-Sugajski, Program Manager (ISP)
The presentation concluded with participants discussing the steps they would take to refer students to a specific support program, using the self-evaluation chart and cheat sheet to guide them. Participants recognized that each student’s unique situation may require support from more than one program, with the key being that each student is helped.
The International Student Program is part of the Enrollment Services & Support Programs Division. ISP will continue to provide services and programs for international students and the entire Skyline College community.
