On February 6, 2020, the Changing the Face of Entrepreneurship Program hosted a student scholarship workshop for Skyline College students. In attendance were approximately 50 students from various areas including the Business and Entrepreneurship Pathway Programs, the CIPHER and ASTEP Learning Communities and the Women’s Mentoring and Leadership Academy (WMLA) program.
This workshop has been empowering and preparing students to apply for scholarships for over three years. The workshop was led by Business Professor Soledad McCarthy, Counselor Nate Nevado and included assistance from various campus partners, including the Associated Students of Skyline College (ASSC), the Bay Area Entrepreneur Center (BAEC) and COOP Ed.
The workshop involved guiding the students in writing their personal statements and ensuring that they had access to as many scholarship opportunities as possible.
