SparkPoint at Skyline College is partnering with the County of San Mateo Human Services Agency (HSA) Outreach Unit to connect students with more on-campus support and resources for county public benefits programs, including CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs.

CalFresh provides food assistance to eligible individuals and families, helping students access nutritious groceries while they focus on their education. Recent changes in the law have expanded CalFresh eligibility to more college students pursuing certificates, associate degrees, and bachelor’s degrees.
Medi-Cal provides free or low-cost health coverage to eligible individuals, while CalWORKs provides temporary cash assistance and supportive services to eligible families with children.
As part of this partnership, HSA Outreach staff will be available at Skyline College on the first and third Tuesday of each month from August 18 through December 15, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Fireside Dining Room in Building 6. Students can meet with HSA Outreach staff to learn more about available benefits, receive an eligibility screening, and get assistance completing benefits applications.
Students can also schedule an appointment with SparkPoint throughout the year for one-on-one assistance applying for CalFresh, Medi-Cal, and CalWORKs.
