Over the summer, the preschool class at Skyline College’s Child Development Lab Center visited the men’s soccer team! Coach Sharabi invited the children to meet the team, see some tricks, and play with the team on the field. The children absolutely loved it! Firstly, the players demonstrated various tricks, such as juggling the ball and dribbling. The children’s favorite was the players who could bounce the soccer ball on their heads! Afterwards, the children were able to practice kicking the ball into the goal. The players also passed the ball to the child to kick into the goal. The toughest part for the children was not using their hands! Then the children were able to run around and play as they pleased with their peers, the players, teachers, etc. Lastly, they took one big group photo together!

The teachers and children greatly appreciate Coach Sharabi and Skyline College’s Men’s Soccer Team for taking the time out of their day to welcome the children. The teachers at the Child Development Center are always looking for opportunities to connect the center with the rest of Skyline College and the various departments. Building community is an integral part of childhood development, helping develop essential social skills like empathy and communication, and establishing a sense of belonging and security that fosters emotional resilience and well-being, and helps them grow into compassionate and collaborative adults. Thank you, Coach Sharabi and the men’s soccer team! Go Trojans!
