Skyline professors Dr. Nick Kapp and Dr. Emilie Hein were invited to participate in a STEM career panel at the South San Francisco Library on May 14, 2024, along with Dr. Duru Ahanotu (Ahan analytics), Sylvia Balestieri (Genentech), and Dr Luella Fu (SF State). Each presenter talked about their educational journeys and careers and shared their passion for teaching with the community. The audience had many questions for the panelists on topics ranging from accommodations for people with disabilities in STEM to careers in Data Science, to how to inspire students to love science.

The presentation at the SSF Library was attended by other Skyline College faculty and students. Not only did our Skyline students contribute to the lively public discussion, but they also engaged with the audience afterward. The Skyline students demonstrated a fun experiment from the Chemistry Club and highlighted the research by Skyline students Codie Lai and Phone Thant Myo with a poster presentation.
