On Saturday, October 4, a small but mighty group from Active Minds and the Psi Beta Honor Society/ Psychology Club walked with hundreds of others to raise funds for NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness). The goal of the walk was to reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges, spread mental health awareness, and raise funds for free, essential mental health services.

As of October 8, the walk has raised $226,783, with donations still being received. These funds will be used to establish new support groups, expand existing programs, train program facilitators, and reach a wider audience than ever before.
This is the fourth year that members of these clubs have participated in this event. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning, with the bonus of contributing to our community!
