We are excited to share that Beta Theta Omicron officer Knox Lwin has made it to the semifinals of the Phi Theta Kappa International Officer Elections! PTK chapters across the United States cast their votes on 2/18 based on each candidate’s research speech, a three-question interview, and informational materials posted online. Knox Lwin’s research speech made a compelling case for data literacy as essential to informed decision-making and as a key educational goal for students going forward. This timely and relevant message clearly resonated with voters and earned him enough support to move into the next round of competition for the Division IV International Officer seat.

Knox Lwin is a Business major at Skyline College, currently serving as the chapter’s VP of Scholarship and as President of the student club Active Minds. This is a fitting combination of academic dedication and campus leadership that shines through in his candidacy.
Knox Lwin will now compete against three other semi-finalists at PTK’s annual convention, Catalyst 2025, in Baltimore, Maryland, at the end of March. There, he will deliver a 90-second research speech to an international audience in his bid for the officer seat. The Beta Theta Omicron chapter will be there every step of the way, rallying behind him throughout the convention.
We are incredibly proud of Knox’s achievement and can’t wait to cheer him on at Catalyst. To find out more about PTK and Catalyst: ptk.org and https://catalyst.ptk.org/
