Women's BadmintonSkyline College Women’s Badminton team concluded a successful season with a dominating doubles performance at the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) State Badminton Championships contested at Pasadena City College on May 10-11, 2019. Skyline College was represented in doubles competition by Katie Tan and Paola Candolada. Tan and Candolada matriculated from Westmoor High School this past fall where they were teammates on the badminton team.

In doubles play, the team of Tan and Candolada entered the competition ranked first in Northern California. They quickly dispatched their opponents from San Diego Mesa in the opening round. Their second round opponent was the top ranked pair in Southern California, Sum Yin Ngai and Anita Xayasomloth of San Diego City College. This match ended up going into a decisive third set which Tan and Candolada dominated winning 21-11. This victory put the dynamic duo into the state finals for doubles where they ultimately prevailed by defeating Chien Tu and Liu Yan of Irvine Valley College by a score of 21-18, 21-12.
