On Thursday, October 17, over 300 high school students and their families gathered at Serramonte Mall in Daly City to attend JUHSD & SSFUSD’s College & Career Fair.
This college fair is hosted at the mall every year and this year’s theme was “Discover Your Future”. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., there were over 30 tables offering information and free goodies from community colleges, state colleges, private colleges, union trade representatives, and city/government agencies.
Our sister colleges College of San Mateo and Canada College each had great tables. Skyline College boasted the most tables, taking an entire section of the mall for our school. Skyline College had a total of 9 tables and 16 representatives that offered information about:
1 – Outreach (General Information)
2 – The Promise Scholars Program
3 – Financial Aid
4 – The Business Department
5 – Accounting
6 – Dual Enrollment
7 – Our Puente Learning Community
8 – ESL Connect
The event not only created a lot of excitement about the array of programs our school has available, but we also met a lot of proud parents and Skyline College alumni who had successfully transferred or graduated from our school. We received warm feedback about how Skyline College continues to be a trusted community partner and solid foundation for students’ pathways to higher education.
