On Wednesday, November 12, 2025 the Skyline College’s Career Services, in collaboration with the Millbrae Library, visited Mills High School to introduce their respective career resources.

Ron Chand, a Career Readiness Coordinator, held a workshop specifically tailored for high school students on the Mills High campus. Chand explained to the Vikings that they can use class work as professional skills on their resume and that it is a great way to bolster their experience. To maintain a semblance of peace in the classroom, Chand created an engaging lecture, including a closing activity that allowed the students to work with and discuss these new concepts and ideas on their own terms with their classmates.

In an ever-competitive job market, especially for entry level jobs, high schoolers or recent graduates need to use every trick in the book to get that call back. Nowadays, every job description for entry level positions asks for years of experience. So, for these students, using the experience they gain in high school is one way to get their foot in the door.
