On Tuesday, October 22, the Black and Brown Scholars (BBS) hosted its annual financial literacy workshop at the Undocumented Community Center, welcoming all men of color students at Skyline College. Approximately 25 students, staff, and faculty gathered to enhance their financial literacy and learn about investment strategies.

BBS Financial Officer, Andy Casas and VP of Communications, Isaiah Clark, presented on financial aid, the importance of financial literacy, available SMCCCD Scholarships, and campus resources like SparkPoint.

Andy is passionate about this topic: ” It’s important for students to know topics like this because if you are financially literate, it’s easier to manage your expenses and save for your future.” He expressed his commitment to helping others avoid financial struggles, highlighting how BBS is a valuable platform for sharing this knowledge.

All attendees left with a strong foundation of financial literacy.
