On the evening of May 24th, 2024, Skyline College proudly hosted the Parenteral Drug Association (PDA) West Coast Chapter (WCC) event in the Farallon room. This professional gathering was a remarkable opportunity for our Biomanufacturing students to showcase their program and network with industry professionals.

The event featured a presentation by student Shabnam Fazlalizadeh, who eloquently shared her experiences and Skyline College’s impact on her academic and professional journey. Additionally, our students engaged in valuable networking with BioPharma professionals and sponsors, gaining insights and building connections essential for their future careers.

Skyline College Biomanufacturing students regularly participate in these local professional meetings organized by the WCC PDA. They attend and volunteer at over six events annually, significantly enhancing their educational experience. The WCC PDA members reciprocate by actively contributing to our Biomanufacturing Industry Advisory Board, ensuring our curriculum remains cutting-edge. They also offer tours, mentorship, and interview preparation to our students.

The National PDA has recognized the WCC for its exceptional collaboration with local universities and colleges, emphasizing the importance of industry-academia partnerships. During the event, PDA members encouraged SF Bay Area companies to create more internship opportunities, highlighting the collective effort to support student success.

This event exemplifies how collaborative efforts between educational institutions and professional organizations lead to greater achievements for all involved. We are fostering a brighter future for our students and the industry.
