At our most recent Psi Beta/Psychology Club meeting, members were treated to a mini research symposium showcasing student scholarship from Skyline College’s robust Honors Transfer Program. Club members had the opportunity to learn about the innovative research conducted by their peers.

A special thank you to the following Psi Beta/ Psych Club members for their engaging presentations:
· Jorge Avalo, Humanistic approaches to substance use disorder in the incarcerated population.
· Olivia Lau, The being in the brain: A review of current perspectives on gender dysphoric neurobiology.
· Toby Zakharov, The efficacy of rehabilitation methods for substance use disorder: A San Francisco approach.
We also discussed pathways for students interested in conducting research. In addition to the Honors Transfer Program, students can engage in research through the Phi Theta Kappa and Psi Beta Honor Societies, both of which have active chapters at Skyline.
I am excited to share that all three students have been accepted to present their posters at the 2026 Western Psychological Association’s annual conference. Congratulations to all of them on this outstanding achievement!
