Psi Beta, a national honor society emphasizing Psychology, is proud to host Giving Away Psychology (GAP), a speakers series to share psychology-related information.

The first speaker in this series was Alexa Moore from Skyline College’s Strategic Partnerships and Workforce Development Division (SPWD). One of SPWD’s goals is to support entry or advancement in the workplace. Alexa’s talk did exactly this, as she shared trends in Psychology. Trends include fighting misinformation, increasing programs and policies related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, addressing burnout, fighting addiction, and more. Alexa also shared valuable tools that can be used to research Psychology-related jobs in the Bay Area.

It was a very informative session and we sincerely appreciate Alexa sharing her time and expertise with us.

Psi Beta meets every Thursday from 1:00-2:00 pm in Building 4, Room 4271. Our activities include psychology-based discussions, Thriving Thursdays, volunteer and community engagement events, and GAP presentations.

If you are interested in learning more about future Psi Beta events, please contact Faculty Advisor Jennifer Merrill at merrill@smccd.edu or Sebastian Sutjipto, the Skyline College Chapter President, at sutjiptos1@my.smccd.edu.

We hope you can come by and join us!
