On October 23, 2024, the preschool class of the Child Development Lab Center in Building 14 visited the Skyline College Art Gallery. The group of 16 children, ages 3-5, looked at their printed campus maps and decided to walk over to Building 1. Upon arrival, they purchased some original art from the vending machine. The teachers and students greeted them warmly and directed them to the art gallery. They explored and observed all the art! They especially loved the hanging installation, describing it as “worms,” “trees,” “hair,” “spider,” etc.

We discussed the different art materials: paint, wool, quilt thread, etc. The current exhibit is called Homebound, reflecting California artists’ experiences and feelings about “home.” Teachers and the children left the exhibit excited to begin new art projects! Thank you, Skyline College Art Gallery!
