Students often feel shy or intimidated about attending faculty office hours, so to break the ice and foster a sense of belonging and connection, the Psychology Department hosted its first Pizza with the Profs on Tuesday, March 4 in Building 6.

When planning the event, the Department had no idea what to expect and only ordered four pizzas—which were quickly demolished! Despite the short-lasting pizza, students enjoyed chatting with faculty in a casual setting. The event was especially fun for online students who do not get to see their professors in person—many were surprised at how tall Dr. Perisho is!

Pizza with the Profs also provided an opportunity to advertise Skyline’s psychology program. Lured over by the free food and spinning prize wheel, students not enrolled in psychology classes learned about social, positive, and sports psychology courses.

Given the high student turnout and enthusiasm, the Psychology Department has decided to plan another Pizza with the Profs. (And this time, they’ll order more pizza!)
