The Nevada-California Northwest District Summit was hosted by Northwest Vice President of Northwest District, Michael Wong, in collaboration with the Beta Theta Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Skyline College on March 2, 2019. Despite the rain, 36 members from Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College attended the summit.
Attendees were greeted at the door with refreshments, and were introduced to the Commit to Complete campaign. The three-hour summit began with an icebreaker called “The Name Game” and ended with a game of Jeopardy.
Attendees learned about Phi Theta Kappa projects including Honors in Action, College Project, Five Star Competitive Edge, Five Star Chapter Plan, and Regional and International Conventions. Most importantly, the attendees were able to build stronger fellowship among Phi Theta Kappans. The attendees rated the summit 4.8 on a 5.0 scale. The summit was a great beginning to prepare for the upcoming hallmark awards submissions and to build stronger chapters.
