Last week, on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, Skyline College’s Math, Engineering, Science Achievement (MESA) Program welcomed students, faculty, and staff to its open house event. Those who dropped in participated in a short scavenger hunt designed to highlight the program’s resources and opportunities.

Upon completion of the scavenger hunt, attendees enjoyed a root beer float, a particularly refreshing treat on a surprisingly warm Skyline afternoon.
The open house offered the college community an opportunity to learn more about the MESA program and its resources, while also fostering connections among students, faculty, and staff. MESA – Math, Engineering, Science Achievement – is an academic enrichment program that helps educationally underrepresented students excel in math and science and graduate from college with degrees in math-based fields. Founded in 1970, the MESA program serves pre-college, community college, and university students at over 90 sites throughout California. Skyline College’s MESA Program is part of the MESA California Community College Programs (MCCP).
