For the 4th consecutive year, a member of the Skyline College Men’s Basketball Team has been recognized by the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association as the top men’s basketball student-athlete in Northern California. Skyline made state history last season by producing the winner three years in a row; this sets another record.
This year’s recipient is Julius Alcantara. Julius was an All-Conference player while achieving a 3.94 GPA. Julius has signed with Menlo College to continue his athletic and academic career.
The four winners are Jacob Salinero, Noah Haynesworth, Colby Vazquez and Julius Alcantara. Jacob recently completed his Master’s of Business Administration from Sonoma State. Noah recently completed his Bachelor’s degree from UC Davis. Colby is entering his senior year at the University of Jamestown.
In addition to the academic success of these young men, another former Trojan completed his Master’s of Business Administration this spring. Masie Mohammadi (pictured below) earned his degree from Corban University while on a scholarship. Masie will return to the Skyline basketball program as an assistant coach this season.
