For the fifth consecutive year, the California Community College Men’s Basketball Coaches Association has recognized a Skyline College men’s basketball team member as the top men’s basketball student-athlete in Northern California. Skyline initially made state history when it produced the winner for three consecutive years; the streak continues.
This year’s recipient is Sean Richardson from Burlingame High School. Sean concluded a tremendous career at Skyline, leading the Trojans to back-to-back state tournament appearances. He started every game of his career and set the all-time Skyline record for 3FGs in a game (8) while being named to the Dean’s List all four of his semesters. Sean graduated magna cum laude with a 3.9 GPA. He signed a scholarship to continue his athletic and academic career at the University of Saint Francis (IL).
The previous four winners were Julius Alcantara (currently a senior at Menlo College), Colby Vazquez (who earned his bachelor’s degree from Jamestown University), Noah Haynesworth (who earned his bachelor’s degree from UC Davis), and Jacob Salinero (who earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sonoma State).
