The Embracing Culture, Heritage, & Origin (ECHO) Club hosted its first event of Spring 2026, Love, Care, & Connection Across Culture, in the Intercultural Center on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The event invited students to explore how different cultures and traditions express the concepts of love, kindness, and connection, while providing a welcoming space for students to relax and connect with one another. Noel Aung (Vice-President of ECHO Club) welcomed the students and opened the event with a brief introduction to the club and the event’s purpose. The event’s agenda consists of a short group discussion about different cultural expressions of care and kindness, a potion-making activity, and a space for relaxation and connection.

After introducing the purpose of the ECHO Club and its officers, Noel led a brief discussion asking attendees how care and kindness are expressed in their cultures. Following the discussion, students were invited to take part in the event’s main attraction, the “Potion-Making Activity.” In this activity, students can create small symbolic potions using colorful ingredients and decorative pieces. Each potion represents positive values such as kindness, affection, and joy, depending on how the students create it. Students greatly enjoyed naming their potions, decorating them in different ways, and sharing the meanings behind each potion with others.

Throughout the event, students also enjoyed engaging with one another in a relaxing environment, where they could de-stress and enjoy light snacks and drinks while making potions and meeting new friends. The cozy and casual atmosphere encouraged students to unwind and express themselves freely, creating a sense of community among students, which matched greatly with the event’s intended purpose.

The ECHO Club thanks everyone who attended and contributed to the success of the Love, Care, & Connection Across Culture event. The club is excited to continue its mission of building community and promoting cultural diversity at Skyline College and invites everyone to participate in upcoming events.
