On October 28, 2024, the preschool children of the Child Development Lab Center visited the dance studio in Building 3! They were invited by the dance instructor, Amber Steele, to enjoy two lovely performances by contemporary modern dance students. They learned about different dance movements, such as jumps, leaps, and stag leaps. The children loved watching the dancers leap, point their toes, and fly through the air! They also enjoyed how one of the dances involved acting as trees. The children, ages 3-5, could dance, leap, spin, etc with the dancers. Not only did the children love it, but the teachers from the center loved it as well, and they got a nice workout in! Thank you to Amber and her class!
Afterwards, the children enjoyed lunch on the quad! If you happen to see our beautiful children on walks around campus, please do not take photos of them to protect their privacy and the privacy of their families. Thank you!
The Center loves and encourages more campus visits! If your department/class can visit us or would like us to visit you, please contact Michelle Nava at navam@smccd.edu. For any Center questions, please email or call the director, Christine at herndonc@smccd.edu or 650-738-7070.
