On February 2nd, 2024, Skyline College’s International Student Program (ISP) once again kicked off the spring semester with a welcome-back field trip to Subpar Miniature Golf in San Francisco. This event aimed to bring together international students, helping them get acquainted with American culture while allowing them to meet new friends.

The event started with a group of 20 international students meeting at the roundabout near Building 4 at 2:15 p.m. to begin the excursion. They were looking forward to a fun-filled day of games, laughter, and new experiences. After getting on the bus, the students had a great time conversing and getting to know one another on their journey to Ghirardelli Square’s Subpar Miniature Golf. When they arrived, everyone was overjoyed to see the miniature golf course and unlimited arcade games waiting for them. They immediately divided themselves into groups and spent hours playing, laughing, and socializing. After enjoying some play time, the students had the opportunity to try some American fried food for dinner. They especially enjoyed the onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and waffle fries! After dinner, they resumed playing games until 5:30 p.m., when it was time to return to Skyline College. The bus ride home was full of laughter and enthusiasm as everyone recounted their greatest memories from the day. All of the students shared laughs and conversed about how much fun they had on the way back.

As they returned to campus, the students exchanged their contact information with one another and made plans to meet again. The day had brought them closer together and left everlasting memories. The Welcome Back Spring 2024 Field Trip was a great success, uniting students from many backgrounds for a day of fun and newly found friendships.

The International Student Program is part of the Global Learning Programs and Services Division. ISP will continue to provide services and programs for international students and the entire Skyline College community.
