The International Student Program (ISP) brought about 20 students to the Daly City Cinemark Theater for a private screening of Pitch Perfect on Friday, March 14, 2025. Student ambassadors William Ordoyo and Jia Haria met with domestic and international students at the bus stop around 12:40 p.m., where they caught the 121 bus to the theater. It was a windy and brisk day, perfect for movie-watching. The students chattered excitedly about Pitch Perfect — some had seen it before and were eager to see it again, while others were watching it for the first time.

As the students made their way to the Daly City Cinemark Theater by bus, Clair Yeo-Sugajski, ISP Program Manager, met up with those who went there directly. Once there, she checked if any students had arrived early and what theater they would be in. When all the students arrived, they went to Theater 8 to drop off their bags and coats before heading to the concession stand. Popcorn and drinks were provided, and students also purchased other concession items.

The movie started on the dot at 2 p.m., with no commercials, to the delight of the students. Everyone was quickly engaged in the story. They laughed, cried, and sang along with the movie, thoroughly enjoying themselves. The film ended too soon, and the students conversed excitedly as they got ready to leave. With shouts of “Have a great weekend,” the students split up and went their ways after an enjoyable afternoon at the movies.
