student and dr. robinsonThe International Student Program (ISP) and the International Affairs Student Club (IASC) co-hosted the Chinese Lantern Festival event at Skyline College. Faculty, staff and students across the campus enjoyed the beautiful lantern displays, learned “57 Fun Facts About China” and sampled some authentic yuanxiao sweet dumplings. The audience also received some “lucky candies” to bring a good luck to the New Year!

The Lantern Festival is also known as the Yuan Xiao festival or the Shang Yuan festival in China and signifies the last day of the Spring Festival.  It is traditionally celebrated on the on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month and corresponds with the first full moon of the year.
