On May 2, the International Student Program (ISP) organized a lively and laughter-filled field trip to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo. Twenty-six international students took part in this sunny day of adventure, friendship, and relaxation.

The group came early, eager to make the most of their day at the amusement park, which was blessed with ideal weather conditions, including bright, clear, and warm weather. The students were ready to make the most of their day. There was a frenzy among the students, and they were running from one roller coaster to the next. Many of them were seeking to ride the most popular attractions. A group of motivated individuals completed eleven separate rides. The Boomerang roller coaster, in particular, stood out as a highlight, with several students characterizing it as both the most challenging and the most exciting ride.

Nevertheless, the journey was about more than just the thrill of the adventure. In the moments leading up to the pressure of final exams, it was an opportunity to relax. Students took advantage of the chance to get to know one another while waiting in line and on loop-de-loops. They did this by forming new connections with one another and having fun together.
Midway through the day, everyone paused to refuel with a hearty lunch featuring classic theme park fare—burgers, chicken tenders, and crispy fries. As the trip drew to a close, the group reunited near the entrance to enjoy a sweet finale: scoops of ice cream and warm funnel cakes.
One of the trip attendees, Camila Ore, provided the finest summary of the event by saying, “This is the best field trip I have ever participated in with the International Student Program. This is something that I am looking forward to seeing more of in the future!”
The ISP team claimed the day a success, not only because of the rides taken, but also because of the memories created. As the students returned home, they were happy and content.
