On Saturday, November 1, 2025, fourteen new and continuing students in the Honors Transfer Program went on a campus tour with Ryan Rossovich, a Skyline College alumnus and recent Honors transfer student. Rossovich, a Chemical Engineering major at Stanford University, graciously met us at the Stanford Oval to say hello to new and old friends. Rossovich took us to see the Rodin sculptures at the Cantor Arts Center, where admission is always free, and to the Engineering and Chemistry Departments, where students interacted with exhibits at the Stanford Robotic Center and viewed chemistry labs and study rooms.
An inspiring stop on the tour was the basement of the David Packard Building in the Chut Kut Yung Laboratory, where the Stanford Robotic Center lives. Rossovich stated that he’d been there several times and knew that students would be excited to walk through it. Students saw humanoid robots, a dance studio that maps human motion, a robot that recognizes objects and helps people tidy up, and many other state-of-the-art forms of technology that are the results of interdisciplinary, global research.

Rossovich led the group towards the Main Quad area, where the group ended with a question-and-answer session. Students asked about the dining plans, financial aid, scholarships, the differences between a semester and quarter systems, housing, classes, and transferring units.
Students enjoyed touring Stanford University, and they look forward to the possibility of continuing their educational journey on the campus.
Honors Club President, Brianna Khuu, reflected on the trip, “The Stanford Campus Tour was a success! A big thank you to our tour guide, a Skyline College Honors Transfer Program Alumni, Ryan Rossovich! We got to understand more about Stanford Campus as well as the application process. A thank you to our advisors, Joyce and Janice as well for the support! Honors Club can’t wait for the future events and tours we have planned for the future!”
This trip could not have happened without the support and generosity of Counselor Joyce Lee, Andy Murillo, Lynette Caballero, and Dean Bianca Rowden-Quince.
