Saturday, October 14th, members of Psi Beta and the Honors Club walked with hundreds of others to raise funds for NAMI (the National Alliance on Mental Illness). The goal of the walk was to reduce stigma surrounding mental health challenges, spread mental health awareness, and raise funds for free, essential mental health services.

The fundraising goal of $200,000 was far exceeded, with donations totaling $239,725.00. These funds will be used to start new support groups, expand programs, train program facilitators, and reach more audiences than ever before. The NAMI walk is an annual event and Skyline College is pleased to have participated for the past two years.

Psi Beta meets every Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Building 6, Room 6-206. Our activities include psychology-based discussions, Wellness Wednesdays, volunteer/ community engagement events, and Giving Away Psychology (GAP) presentations.

The next Psi Beta event will be held on October 26, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., in 4-301. It will feature Skyline College Psychology Professor Dr. Shaun Perisho.
