Ski resorts, Disneyland, and Coachella. What do these places have in common?

They are all places where an Emergency Medical Technician, or EMT, can work! EMTs are trained to respond quickly to medical emergencies where every second matters. They provide emergency medical care, assess the injured, and transport them safely to the hospital. In a crowded environment like Coachella, EMTs need to be strong, selfless, and remain calm under pressure.

The Skyline College EMT training program includes lectures and labs in the classroom and also provides students with real exposure to emergency care. While in the program, students participate in an ambulance ride-along where they shadow current EMTs on shift. These ride-along provide educational, firsthand experience, allowing students to observe daily operations, witness patient care firsthand, and determine whether this field is right for them.

Students who are interested in EMS and other healthcare professions are strongly encouraged to apply. Applications are currently open for the Fall semester program! Students must be 18 years of age or older by the first day of class and have an American Heart Association BLS Certificate to meet the admission requirements.
