On Friday, October 31st, 2025, the ECHO Club (Embracing Cultures, Heritages, & Origins Club) hosted its 4th general meeting of Fall 2025, embracing the theme of Ghostly Gala: Halloween. This Halloween gala was promoted through social media and screen ads around the Skyline College campus, welcoming all students and staff to join and celebrate. The purpose of the gala was to let everyone enjoy the whole Halloween spirit with fun costumes, sugary treats, glittery drinks, mystery games, and crafts.

Sky Wun (Co-President) opened the event by welcoming everyone and guiding attendees through the Intercultural Center, where there were assigned stations with enjoyable activities. The moment the guests entered, they were led to the snack station, where they enjoyed a bite of cute Halloween cookies and candies, and glitter-fied their drinks with edible sparkles. Moving on, there was a Mystery Box Challenge, overseen by Zwe (Vice President), where participants challenged their curiosity by guessing what spooky item was inside the three boxes labeled brains, ooze, and eyeball, which were really just mac and cheese, slime, and a stressball. Those who got all three items correctly won a prize. On the other side of the room were two crafting stations, one for pumpkin painting and the other for potion-jar making. Pamela (Secretary) guided guests in painting mini-pumpkin statues, while Louis (Social Media Officer) guided guests in creating “potion jars” curated with little gemstones, glitter, and dried petals, each with a specific intention/manifestation such as love, luck, or protection. The atmosphere was also cozy, with Halloween-themed music filling the space, encouraging everyone to be creative and connect with new friends.

The gala continued with a lively costume contest, as the audience showcased their costumes through fun performances such as dances, cute model walks, and even dramatic hero poses. All those who entered the costume contest won small prizes. The main prize, a cute ghost cup, was awarded to the student dressed as a Jujutsu Kaisen character, “Yuji,” by popular vote, followed by Batman taking second place. The Halloween event wrapped up with smiles in the group photo and had a total of 15 attendees, including a student who came all the way from Cañada College.

Every guest left with at least one item as a keepsake, whether a prize, the crafts they made, or even the memory itself.
