Skyline College Library hosted drop in activities this week to assist faculty, staff, and students de-stress during the last week of the semester. Students enjoyed week-long drop-in activities such as popular board games, bookmark coloring, and jigsaw puzzles.
Wednesday, May 17: Therapy Dogs
This semester the library once again hosted therapy dogs in the Library in partnership with the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA. Over 90 students, faculty, and staff came out to meet two of their furry friends. The Canine Good Citizen certified therapy dogs included an Australian shepherd, Cody, and a golden retriever, Lucky. Students enjoyed petting therapy dogs and interacting with their volunteer owners and learning their stories. 100% of attendee surveys wanted the library to host therapy dogs again and said the therapy dog program lessened their stress on that day.
Weekly Snacks in the Library:
In partnership with the Skyline College Bookstore, the library offered snacks, coffee, and tea to stressed and hungry students this week. The library would once again like to thank Kevin Chak, Skyline College Bookstore Manager, for donating coffee and hot water, and assisting with this effort.
