The EOPS/CARE/CalWORKs/GSP/NextUp Team, with the support of the Black and Brown Scholars (BBS) Program, hosted our annual Christmas Giving Tree event on December 4, 2024.

This cherished event is held each year to bring love, support, and holiday cheer to student parents in our programs. Over the years, the Christmas Giving Tree has brought joy to families by supporting their children and celebrating the season’s true spirit.

Historically, the Giving Tree has supported 15 to 20 children annually. However, we are thrilled to share that this year, we exceeded expectations by providing gifts to 49 children—more than double the number in previous years. Additionally, we assisted 19 families, making their holiday season brighter and more joyful.

This year’s event was an incredible success, and it would not have been possible without the generous donations from the Skyline College community. Your contributions turned this event into a reality, and I cannot fully express my gratitude for how we all came together to make children’s dreams come true.

A special thank you to the Black and Brown Scholars Program for organizing the welcoming celebration. Their efforts created a warm and festive atmosphere, allowing parents to feel the holiday spirit as they joined us in the office.

Thank you all once again for your kindness and generosity. May you enjoy this holiday season knowing that you have made a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of our student parents and their children.
