Staff members of the Child Development and Laboratory Center (CDLC) brought the Toddlers and Pre-School children to the Skyline College Library for Story Time and songs. Librarian Carlos Bugarin Camacho led the group in singing “5 Little Ducks” and then “Street Light Song.” With smiles on their faces, the children cheered and clapped into story time.

With “Ooohs” and “Aaahs” escaping from the children’s lips, Angelyn, the CDLC Practicum Student Teacher, read Llama Llama Red Pajama, followed by the reading of I Like Myself, and ended with Carlos reading Blue’s Clues & You: Sign with Blue! The children enjoyed themselves, clapping as they grabbed their stickers.

CDLC brings their Toddler and Pre-School children to explore the campus and make connections with the campus community, especially when visiting the Skyline College Library, where their children can interact with the librarians, check out books from the Children’s Books section, and play the board games we have in the Reading Nook. As Michelle states, “We know, as educators, that early exposure to reading and books is important for early development.”

Thank you, Michelle Nava, Leticia Ortiz, and the staff of CDLC, for bringing your children to the Library.

The Skyline College Library is part of the Peninsula Library System, so we encourage the Skyline College community to visit us and learn more about our services and join us during our events!
