On Friday, April 17, 2026, Ron Chand, Community Engagement PSC, visited the Bay University Adult Transition Class at Capuchino High School to offer career services.

Chand worked along with the Adult Transition Teacher to ensure the curriculum was accessible for all students’ different learning styles and needs. Chand tailored his resume workshop, where he teaches students how to use classwork as professional skills to put on their resumes, and that it is a great way to bolster their “work” experience. For example, group work, a common class activity, is similar to the office, where, when in a group, one must collaborate, liaise, and work patiently with others.

Students were also able to practice with their paraprofessionals on writing their resumes and interviewing with Chand, so they can continue to build their comfort levels speaking to people they may not know as well.

In an ever-competitive job market especially for students transitioning from high school to adulthood they need to use every trick in the book to get that call back this is why Chand will visit Bay University for an ongoing series to ensure all of the students are set up for success.
